Mission
The mission of MadeBiotech is to develop and to promote the concept of Sustainable Biorefinery for different types of biomass, using processes with low environmental impact and high technological content. Futhermore our goal is to concentrate know-how and expertise on sustainable biomass valorization through the development of an international R&D centre on Madeira Island. It is of outmost importance to show that it is possible to have a growing economy based on natural resources without damaging the local ecosystems. The size and biodiversity of the island is perfect for developing sustainable models which will prove the concept and can be scaled up in other locations around the globe.
